Future Heroes of the Planet Announced: Meet the 2024 Shane McConkey EcoChallenge Winners
LAKE TAHOE, CA — The Shane McConkey Foundation is proud to announce the winners of the 2024 Shane McConkey EcoChallenge—a global youth initiative empowering students to take creative, meaningful action for the environment. From recycling plastic bottle caps into benches, to feeding homeless communities, to tackling the fast fashion crisis, these students are proving that every action makes a world of difference.
The EcoChallenge celebrates the legacy of legendary skier Shane McConkey by encouraging youth to think critically, act creatively, and protect the planet—all while having fun.

Since its launch, the EcoChallenge has supported thousands of students worldwide and donated over $1 million to more than 50 nonprofits. Past winners have gone on to change laws, lead cleanups, and develop groundbreaking green technologies.
