In honor of Earth Day, The Shane McConkey Foundation is proud to announce the winners of the first ever Shane McConkey Eco Challenge, with $10K in cash prizes going to the winning teams to benefit environmental education and improvements in their schools.

Last October, the Shane McConkey Foundation teamed up with Protect Our Winters (POW) and invited students around the country to take on climate change first-hand. Students were challenged to create teams and put creative ideas to fight climate change into action. Each team was challenged to define an issue, create a plan to address the issue, implement the plan and report the results. After a grueling review process the winners have been announced.

“I am overwhelmed and so proud of all these students that have entered the SMF Eco Challenge.  If I could, I would choose each and every one of these students, as they care about our planet,” says SMF Founder Sherry McConkey.  “As far as I am concerned these kids are our future and what our world desperately needs.  All these ideas are hopeful and possible. Thank you so much for the amazing thought and effort by all who participated.” We hope everyone will participate again next year!  CONTEST  DETAILS
