Meal Preparation Guidelines
Thank you for volunteering to make Sherry and Ayla a meal. Please read the following very carefully. If you would like to request access to the meal planning calendar, please email the organizers at food@shanemcconkey.org.
What to Prepare: As much organic food as possible. Sherry loves vegetables, salads, and a variety of grains and legumes, so please feel free to include these ingredients into any of the dishes you prepare.
Repeat Dishes: Please look at the calendar carefully to see what other people have signed up to bring so Sherry and Ayla receive a variety of dishes. Wine donations are acceptable.
What Not To Prepare: Please do not prepare dishes that incorporate eggs because both Sherry and Ayla have an egg allergy. In addition, please do not prepare mashed potatoes, Mexican food, and desserts and/or sweets or any kind. Please do not send any paper plates or disposable cutlery.
Serving Portions: We ask that you make dishes that can feed no more than four average people. This way, half of the food can be frozen if necessary and eaten at a later time.
Food Packaging: Place your prepared meal in a paper bag with your name, address, and contact number so that either Suki or Gia can return your dishes and containers as soon as possible. The less disposable plastic, the better.
Food Drop-Off: When dropping off the food, please respect Sherry and Ayla’s desire for privacy. PLEASE drop all food off in the cooler at the top of Sherry's stairs, outside her home. DO NOT knock on the door or ring the bell. Please have food at the house by 6:30 pm.
